Cynthia Haines, M.D. (Dr. Cindy Haines) is a full-time medical communicator. Dr. Cindy Haines does not see patients, dedicating 100% of her professional time to communications and teaching.
Dr. Cindy Hanes is Chief Medical Officer of HealthDay, Managing Editor of HealthDay-Physician's Briefing, and host of the daily syndicated health news video series, HealthDay TV.
Dr. Cynthia Haines earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology and psychology from Saint Louis University. She went on to earn an M.D. with Distinction, as well as a Geriatric Scholar's Award, from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Haines is affiliated with Saint Louis University School of Medicine where she is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, teaching third- and fourth-year medical students case studies in medicine and mentoring students interested in medical communications.
She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, has served as President of the Saint Louis Academy of Family Physicians (2010), and is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. In 2013, Dr. Haines was added to the Fulbright Specialist Roster for a term of five years. The Fulbright Specialist Roster is a list of all approved candidates who are eligible to be matched with incoming project requests from overseas academic institutions for Fulbright Specialists.
Dr. Haines is also a member of the American Diabetes Association and the International Mensa Society. Past affiliation includes serving as Director of Public Relations and Marketing for the St. Louis chapter of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (2007-2009).
Dr. Cindy Haines is well-versed in all areas of health care and specializes in delivering complicated information in accessible ways. Particular areas of concentration include fitness, nutrition, and psychological health. Dr. Haines engages in initiatives that seek to empower, improve, and elevate both the individual and our society at large.
